NEWS: CORD MPs now plan to embarrass UHURU/RUTO; threaten to reject PSs list due to CORRUPTION

Tuesday May 21, 2013 - A section of Raila’s Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) MPs have threatened to reject the list of Principal Secretaries submitted to President Uhuru Kenyatta by Public Service Commission.
This is after the Anti-graft body questioned the integrity of some of the nominees and the process of nominating them which was not above board.

Led by MPs T J Kajwang (Ruaraka), Silvance Osele (Kasipul Kabondo), Oyugi Magwanga (Kasipul) and David Ochieng (Ugenya), the CORD MPs have vowed to reject the list if Uhuru/Ruto’s Government does not furnish them with the EACC report to enable them understand nominees before they are approved.

Speaking during the burial of the late Mary Ojwang’, Osele’s mother-in-law in Rachuonyo, the legislators noted that Uhuru and Ruto were planning to appoint corrupt individuals as PSs by watering down the EACC report that would have scrutinized them for the best interest of Kenyans.

Kajwang said that as the official opposition in Parliament, CORD will not allow what happened with the Cabinet Secretaries in parliament to happen again with the Principal Secretaries under their watch.
