General Manager Job Vacancy for an Upcoming Chain of Sandwich and Salad Bars in Nairobi

Summary:
 
Our client is an upcoming chain of sandwich and salad bars in Nairobi with prospective growth to East Africa. 
Their goal is to establish strong presence as a successful regional fast fresh meal chain and gain market share in East Africa’s fast food industry; foster healthy eating trend in the region is one of their long term objectives. 
In order to achieve this, they are looking to hire an energetic, ambitious and self driven General Manager.

Reporting to the Director; the General Manager will deliver revenue and profits by developing, marketing, financing, and providing appealing restaurant service as well as managing staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepare strategic and annual forecasts and budgets; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions; establishing and monitoring financial controls; developing and implementing strategies to increase average meal checks.
  • Developing and implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs; evaluating program results; identifying and tracking changing demands.
  • Manage purchases and inventory of the operational requirements and put in place controls in supplier management and payments.
  • Collaborate with the operations manager in preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing standards in productivity, quality, and customer service delivery.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings
  • Implement human resource objectives through effective recruitment and selection, training, communications and disciplining management staff
  • Maintain a healthy facility environment by establishing and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining security systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management from a recognized institution and Diploma in Hotel Management;
  • At least 5 years experience managing restaurant or hotel operations;
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the hospitality industry;
  • Ability to explore opportunities that add value to the staff and the organization;
  • Demonstrates skills in financial management and ability to provide strategic leadership;
  • Ability to initiate improvements; building relationships with strategic partners and clients;
  • Sound business acumen and good communications skills.
