Barasa Nyukuri, who is a renowned election expert, told the court that he was asked by Musikari Kombo, who is the petitioner in the case, to carry out a forensic audit of the elections.

Barasa said he used the form 35 and 36 provided by the IEBC and confirmed the final results were different from the one announced.

“Your Honour out of the 802 polling stations in the entire Bungoma County 522 had massive irregularities that cannot be wished away,” Barasa said.

He said some polling stations like Nzoia Industrial Primary in Kanduyi and Namunyiri Primary the voter turnout was over 500 percent.

“Your Honour, the figures and remarks by returning officers in these forms differ completely,” he said

He said going by his expertise in statistics, Kombo won the election.

“I tallied the votes in nine constituencies using IEBC documents and Kombo got 139,639 votes and not 125,853 votes announced,” he said.

Barasa was the 11th witness to testify on the ongoing poll petition.
