NEWS: MUTUNGA’s Supreme Court will still favour UHURU/ RUTO on this one: Senators wasting time- KAMOTHO WAIGANJO

Wednesday June 12, 2013 - Even as Senators led by majority leader Kithure Kindiki, James Orengo and Moses Wetangula move to the Supreme Court to sue President Uhuru Kenyatta for gross violation of the constitution as a result of assenting to the Revenue Bill, it is unlikely that they will win.
This has been said by CIC Commissioner, Kamotho Waiganjo.

Speaking today on Citizen TV, Waiganjo said that the Supreme Court will favour President Uhuru Kenyatta and uphold the bill considering that some money covered in the bill is already being spent.

Waiganjo stated that the Supreme Court had a history of saving time and resources like it did with the Presidential Election, where it upheld the election of Uhuru/Ruto, saying the same is likely to happen with the Division of Revenue Bill, 2013.

He noted that although it would be the best thing for the Supreme Court to do in order to save time, the bill needed further scrutiny by both National Assembly and the Senate.
