NEWS: UHURU KENYATTA refused to invite RAILA ODINGA at Madaraka Day

Monday June 3, 2013 - A top aide of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta refused to invite CORD leader Raila Odinga in the just concluded Madaraka day celebrations, held on Saturday at Nyayo National Stadium.
The aide, who is one of the closest aides of the former Premier said the PM, spent his day tweeting at his Nairobi home.

“My boss could not attend because he was not invited.” he said.
“We had expected that since this is a major celebration to mark 50 years of self-rule, my boss, other CORD leaders, former President Moi and other regional leaders would be invited just as former President Kibaki graced Uganda’s celebrations recently. I think the current administration is overwhelmed,” the aide added.

He said State operatives had planned to embarrass Raila Odinga if he had turned up for the event at will, the same way they embarrassed Mama Ida Odinga at JKIA on Friday.

“He could not just attended celebrations because he could be embarrassed with protocol guys, saying they did expect him,” he said.
