NEWS: WAMALWA to replace besieged SAKAJA as UHURU KENYATTA’s TNA boss - to please the LUHYAS

Former Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, Eugene Wamalwa, may replace TNA chairman, Johnson Sakaja, as the new TNA party boss.
According to impeccable sources, President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is the leader of the party, is contemplating the appointment of former Justice Minister to replace Sakaja who has been nominated to the National Assembly.

“Since Eugene could not be accommodated in the Cabinet, making him the TNA Chairman would keep him close for future political reasons,” the source said.

However, some TNA members argue that the plan would be a political blunder for Eugene to become the TNA chairman, since he would have to quit his New Ford Kenya party and this would dislodge whatever support he can draw from the Luhya community.

When contacted on Friday, Wamalwa said he was not aware of the plan to have him succeed Sakaja and does not intend to quit as the New Ford Kenya party leader.

“Of course we are in coalition with TNA under the Jubilee banner. We signed an agreement in that regard but I am not aware of what you are talking about. Maybe they intend to approach me but so far nobody has broached the subject,” Wamalwa who is also the former Saboti MP said.
